So, Simplicity has come out with it's "Alice in Wonderland" costumes.  Love to hear what you guy think of them
Alice and Queen of Hearts.

Mad Hatter and generic Pirate

I don't like how the Alice/Queen dresses are one piece. The Alice dress is supposed to mock a dress with an apron over it, which isn't what Alice wore in the movie at all. It's more of the Disney's Alice. The Queen's dress is more interesting, but I can't think of a practical use for it - I would much rather make a similar costume using other patterns. To finish it off, the look on Alice's face is just terrible. To name one thing I do like about the dresses, I like the band at the waist. I think it's cute.

The Mad Hatter/Pirate pattern I also find disappointing. I feel like you could find similar patterns that would be more useful. I also dislike that it shows you how to make a pirate hat and not the top hat!

I know, I'm a bastard, but that's how I feel.

The Mad Hatter costume looks WAY more like Willy Wonka than the Hatter, IMO, and the Alice dress is just hideous.

Hokay, I haven't worked with them, and I haven't seen the movie, but I'd have to say that Simplicity's designs aren't "layery" enough. They have potential. But they look flat. Design-wise.

And I just realized how long it's been since I went to a fabric store and browsed patterns. I really don't know what's been out for the past few years :P I keep re-using old patterns or drafting my own! XD
